Finally, after my holiday and stuff I'm finally back for another year of movie news!!
First of all, I have to start off with some sad news unfortunately!! Don Lafontaine, the voice-over specialist who made “In a world…” a famous phrase in movie trailers, died Monday in a Los Angeles medical center. He was 68.
According to ETOnline, Lafontaine died from complications from pneumothorax. His work could be heard in thousands of trailers and commercials - most recently in a television ad for Geico insurance.
Second of all, some good news, The Dark Knight is breaking record after record now gaining over 900 million dollars world wide after only 7 weeks of its release!! Where is this going to end??
That's it for now, I will be back for more soon...

The Dark Knight doing major business at the Box Office!!
Taken from SuperHeroHype:
Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight earned an estimated $75.6 million from 4,366 theaters in its second weekend, surpassing Shrek 2's $72.2 million for biggest second weekend ever.
Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins follow-up has reached $314.2 million in just 10 days, another record. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest held the previous record in the amount of days it took to cross the $300 million mark - it needed 16 days to do so. On Monday, The Dark Knight will surpass Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to become the biggest movie of 2008 domestically.
The film is already up to #23 on the all-time domestic blockbuster list and has a good shot at surpassing Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope's $460.998 million (not counting inflation) to become the second-biggest domestic earner of all-time, trailing only Titanic's $600.788 million.
The Dark Knight, budgeted at $185 million, stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.
Meanwhile, Columbia Pictures' Hancock took in $8.2 million in its fourth weekend in sixth place, sending the $150 million Will Smith superhero film over the $200 million mark with $206.4 million.
Universal's Hellboy II: The Golden Army dropped down to eighth place. It made $4.9 million in its third weekend for a total of $65.9 million.

How about this for an opening weekend?!?!?!
On Sunday, Warner Bros. Pictures estimated that The Dark Knight had earned $155.3 million its opening weekend. Turns out, that was low! The final figures show that Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins follow-up took in a record-breaking $158.4 million over the Friday-to-Sunday frame, easily beating the $151.1 million opening of Spider-Man 3 in May 2007.
One of the big reasons for the lower estimate was that the studio expected the movie to do about $39.4 million on Sunday but in actuality it received $43.6 million, again beating Spider-Man 3's previous record of $39.9 million for the day.
The film earned a record-breaking $67.8 million on Friday alone. Of that, $18.5 million came from midnight shows, besting the previous midnight record set by Fox's 2005 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which grossed $16.9 million from 3,663 theaters.
It also set the record for an IMAX opener, earning $6.2 million from 94 IMAX theaters.
The studio estimates that The Dark Knight, which opened in a record 4,366 theaters, could gross as much as $220 million in its first week. That's more than the entire domestic gross of Nolan's Batman Begins, which earned $205 million domestically and $166 million overseas.
The big opening allowed the box office to take in a record $250 million in ticket sales total. The previous weekend record was $218.4 million, set in July 2007 when Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest opened to $135.6 million.

TDK almost in theatres, now how about that DVD?
Taken from: http://ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=6466
We know THE DARK KNIGHT isn't even out in theaters yet (less than two weeks away!), but let's admit it: We already know that we'll be adding this one to our personal DVD collections.
iF MAGAZINE did a bit of investigating at the junket last weekend to squeeze out any details we could get from the filmmakers regarding what juicy extras we can look forward to. While director Christopher Nolan and producers Charles Roven and Emma Thomas had not met to discuss the DVD yet at the time of THE DARK KNIGHT junket, they will able to throw us a few scraps.
Nolan and Thomas both brought up the anticipated Blu-ray version and its capabilities. Nolan summed it up by saying, "The Blu-ray, in particular, will be able to actually use the shifted aspect ratios as it appears on the IMAX screen because the 16:9 aspect ratio is sufficiently different from the 2:4 that you'll actually see a shift on the Blu-ray. The resolution on the Blu-ray is clear enough that you can actually see difference in grain structure and sharpness. So I think it will be quite spectacular."
There are a couple of elements that fans will not be seeing. Thomas said that it's "unlikely" that the DVD will contain alternate takes of Heath Ledger as the Joker [during the junket, the filmmakers and fellow cast members mentioned how Ledger would occasionally riff or improvise some of his dialogue], but pointed out that they have not decided anything for sure yet.
Another popular feature that THE DARK KNIGHT DVD won't have according to Roven: deleted scenes.

"We know there won't be any deleted scenes because there never are," says Roven, noting director Nolan puts everything of importance in the actual movie. "There weren't any on BATMAN BEGINS and there weren't any on this one."
Apart from that, Nolan promised us some "very interesting extras". The man hasn't failed us thus far, so we'll be waiting in excited anticipation.
THE DARK KNIGHT opens nationwide on July 18.

Terminator Update!!
As some of you might know, Christian Bale (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, The Prestige, American Psycho) has been cast as John Connor in the brandnew, highly anticipated Terminator Trilogy! The new movie, called Terminator, The Future Begins (Directed by McG, known from Charlie's Angels) started shooting this week and WB has released a small plot for the movie...
In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.
McG himself is keeping a blog on the internet on this page! Be sure to check it every once and a while to keep updated by the director himself! And check out this early concept art...

Musical mastermind!
I'm not only a movie freak, but also a big nut about movie scores and movie music. One of my favourite movie music composers is Hans Zimmer... If you have never heard of this man than you truly were living under a rock for the past decade! Scoring tremendous amounts of movies like The Lion King, Batman Begins, Pirates of the Caribbean, Madagaskar, The Da Vinci Code and The Holiday. One of his least known but most awesome scores is that for True Romance (1993). The main track is called You're So Cool and because it ís so cool... here it is!
